While both physical and digital iterations of E3 2022 have been cancelled, the Summer Game Fest is making a return. An official tweet confirmed that the celebration would start in June with a kickoff show hosted by creator Geoff Keighley.
Last year’s kickoff show had over 30 announcements and reveals including a gameplay trailer for Elden Ring, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and much more. Alan Wake 2, which was announced at The Game Awards 2021, should also receive some new details ahead of its release in 2023.
Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live likely won’t be the only showcase happening in June. Rumors have indicated that Microsoft is preparing an E3-style showcase in June where we’ll likely see the gameplay reveal of Bethesda’s Starfield. Ubisoft also apparently has some big reveals coming up like a rumored new Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed Rift and much more so look for a new Ubisoft Forward to happen as well.
Join us this June for @SummerGameFest – an industry wide celebration of video games, featuring a spectacular live kickoff show hosted by @geoffkeighley
