System Shock 3

During Unity’s keynote at the Game Developers Conference, OtherSide Entertainment’s Warren Spector debuted the first pre-alpha teaser for System Shock 3. Along with the atmospheric and body horror of its predecessors, the immersive aspects seem to be fairly intact. SHODAN is also back and acts as terrifying as ever.

Along with Spector, System Shock 3 is being developed by several other veterans of the classic games. They include Paul Neurath, ex-creative director on System Shock 1, and concept artists Robb Waters and Nate Wells. Terri Borius has also been confirmed to return as the voice of SHODAN.

System Shock 3 will be coming to PC and “other platforms”, though a release date has yet to be announced. The title was slated to be published by Starbreeze, however, in light of recent events like the resignation of its CEO and poor performance with Overkill’s The Walking Dead, the publishing rights were sold back to OtherSide Entertainment. Stay tuned for more details on the game’s development.
