System Shock 3 is a first person action adventure title developed and published by OtherSide Entertainment.
It is the first game in the series since 1999, and the development is being led by series creator Warren Spector.
Nightdive Studios' CEO Stephen Kick says Tencent owns the rights to the third System Shock game, and is in charge of whether or not it gets made.
OtherSide Entertainment hasn't worked on System Shock 3 since 2019, and Tencent seems to be in full control of the IP. as per Spector.
"But we can’t speak on it much further than that at this point in time," says the developer.
"Our new concept is coming along nicely and we are really excited about it," says the developer.
Key members of System Shock 3's development team are reportedly no longer at OtherSide Entertainment.
"There are expectations with the scope of the game and the legacy of the original games," says Spector.
The upcoming shooter sim will not have traditional classes.
