Those who've purchased digital versions of PS One and PSP titles can download and play the same on PS4 and PS5 at no extra cost.
While PS Plus Essential subscribers will see one refresh per month for new PS4 and PS5 titles, Extra and Premium will have two.
"That will deteriorate the 1st party title quality and that is our concern," says Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki in a recent investor Q&A.
"As we prepare to launch the new PlayStation Plus membership service, we are doing some work behind the scenes to make the transition as smooth as possible for all of our existing members," Sony says.
Several PS1 and PSP titles have started leaking via the PlayStation Store database, including Tekken 2 and Ridge Racer 2.
Persona 5 is also slated to leave the PlayStation Plus Collection on May 11th. Subscribers can add it to their library and still play after its removal.
Sony confirms that those who're subscribed to both current services will automatically be given a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.
As per a new report, any and all future games with a wholesale price of $34 or above will need to have time-limited trials that are at least two hours long.
FIFA 22 and Tribes of Midgard will be playable on PS4 and PS5 while rogue-lite Curse of the Dead Gods is the PS4 version.
The move comes ahead of the revamped PlayStation Plus launch, which offers classic PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP titles in its new Premium Tier.
Sony has said that PlayStation Plus users will be able to "easily upgrade to a higher benefit plan at any time".
The revamped PlayStation Plus will launch in Asian markets on May 23, before releases in Japan, the Americas, and Europe throughout June.
It seems likely that SIE Bend Studio's PlayStation and PlayStation Portable shooters will likely be part of the revamped PS Plus' library.
Oddworld Inhabitants president and co-founder Lorne Lanning says multiple factors combined to make the game's free PS Plus month hurt the studio in significant ways.
"We have over 200 partners working with us to put their content into PlayStation Plus," says PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan.
PlayStation Plus will only allow PS3 games to be streamed following its revamp in June, but it's been claimed that Sony is working on a native solution as well.

PS Plus subscribers can download Hood: Outlaws and Legends, Slay the Spire, and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Biki Bottom - Rehydrated in April.
