The Division will have plenty of new updates to share on a number of games at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event, the publisher has confirmed.

The next Ubisoft Forward event is coming up on September 10, and the publisher clearly has plenty to talk about. The full reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage is, of course, set for the show, while recently, Ubisoft also confirmed that the likes of Skull and Bones and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope will be shown off.

Now, more games have been added to the list, with Ubisoft revealing that fans of The Division will also have plenty to look forward to. Taking to Twitter, the company has confirmed that the Ubisoft Forward showcase will also include updates on free-to-play PvPvE title The Division Heartland, mobile title The Division Resurgence, and upcoming content for The Division 2.

Interestingly, some brief new details and screenshots on The Division Heartland were also recently leaked via the Ubisoft Store itself. The game is expected to launch in the current fiscal year (which means before April 2023), so there’s a good chance that Ubisoft ends up announcing a final release date for it.

The upcoming free-to-play shooter recently saw its page on the official Ubisoft Store going up prematurely, before it was promptly taken down.

Ubisoft is doing plenty with The Division, with support for The Division 2 still trucking along and a mobile game also being in development with The Division Resurgence. In addition to that, of course, free-to-play PvPvE shooter The Division Heartland is also in development, and though we’ve known about it in an official capacity for quite some time now, details on the title have remained largely scant.

Recently, however, the Ubisoft Store page of The Division Heartland went early earlier than it was supposed to, revealing new screenshots and brief details. The page describes the title as a “free-to-play survival-action multiplayer shooter set in small-town Middle America” that will allow you to play as one of six agents and three unique classes, each coming with unique perks and skills.

The Division Heartland will seemingly be split across two main modes, which very much falls in line with previous leaks. Storm Operations is the PvPvE mode, where each match will be a 45-player affair, tasking players with squaring off against other players, AI-controlled rogue agents called Vultures, as well as a “lethal virus”. Again, these details have been mentioned in previous leaks.

Meanwhile, the second main mode will be Excursions, which will see players “complete PvE missions, gather gear, activate alerts, and prep the battlefield in Excursion Operations.”

Interestingly, the page mentions Ubisoft Montreal as The Division Heartland’s developer. Previously, Red Storm Entertainment was officially confirmed as the studio in charge of the project.

The game’s Ubisoft Store page has since been taken down, but you can check it out below, courtesy of @Unknown1Z1 on Twitter. You can also check out the game’s new screenshots found on the page.

Ubisoft has confirmed that it’ll be sharing more news on The Division Heartland at its upcoming Ubisoft Forward event, so we’ll know more about the game soon enough.

The company has previously said that the free-to-play shooter will launch sometime before April 2023, but a specific launch date has yet to be announced.

The Division Heartland is now available in the Ubisoft Store listed as "Coming Soon" #thedivisionheartland #thedivision #comingsoon #f2p @TheDivisionGame https://t.co/pydu6vY2mn pic.twitter.com/tuBbNpcdDK

An overhaul to the inventory and gear system, more akin to the main games, has also reportedly been made as per insider Tom Henderson.

While The Division 2 continues to receive updates (and faces its share of issues), development continues on The Division Heartland. The free-to-play spinoff is slated to launch sometime in fiscal year 2022-23. In a new report on Try Hard Guides, insider Tom Henderson provided some new details from anonymous sources (who provided footage and images).

Expedition has been renamed to Excursion with details on it, along with Storm, being the same as Henderson’s previous report. Two additional modes – Nightfall and Hunt – have been revealed here. Nightfall is an objective-based PvE mode with the objective of gathering loot, surviving and then extracting. It boasts “added layers” for higher difficulty and there are different objectives to complete, from deploying beacons to hunting down foes.

Another interesting twist is that players must extract from a specific point on the map’s edge and can’t do so at night. At this time, AI foes called “Vultures” will come out and you must survive against them.

As for Hunt, it’s apparently a PvP-based mode without AI. This allows players to engage in some form of competitive multiplayer. Other details include cross-platform play being in active testing and an overhaul to the inventory and gear system to be more like The Division’s mainline games. Based on the footage and images seen, Henderson says the game appears to be “near completion” and is expected to release this year.

More details should be revealed soon, either at Ubisoft’s next showcase or even at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12th. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Based on leaked footage, the new game mode could tie into the upcoming The Division Heartland, which is inspired by Escape From Tarkov.

Ubisoft Massive is prepping for the release of The Division 2: Season 9. The Public Test Server for the new season is already available to pre-load and goes live tomorrow at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET. While the official release date has yet to be revealed, what’s interesting is the promise of a new mode.

According to leaks by GrumpierFaceman on Twitter, this may be related to The Division Heartland, the upcoming Escape from Tarkov-like spin-off. Allegedly called “Welcome Heartland”, it sees players taking “whatever” and facing off against each other. Die and you lose everything that was taken into the Zone. How this connects to the main game remains to be seen.

The Division Heartland is planned to release before April 2023 has had several details leak thus far (and could be due for an announcement as per insider Tom Henderson). In the meantime, Ubisoft Massive also revealed that the Specializations revamp for The Division 2 has been delayed out of Season 9. It’s still due to arrive in Year 4 so stay tuned for more details.

It's been a while since Ubisoft said much about the upcoming free-to-play spinoff, but a new leak may have revealed some interesting details on the game.

Since announcing free-to-play spinoff The Division Heartland about a year ago, Ubisoft has said very little about the game, other than having delayed it a few months after its announcement. Now, however, details on the game seem to have finally emerged, thanks to a reported published on Xfire by Tom Henderson.

In line with previous leaks, The Division Heartland, unlike the series’ first two entries, seemingly won’t be set in a major city, but in a small town named Silver Creek- though Henderson still describes it as “a large open world” that will have “plenty of opportunities to find rare loot”. Random locations in this large map will often become contaminated Green Poison, the virus-infected gas that has wrecked the world in the series’ fiction.

Getting caught in the gas will cause players to go into a downed state, though you can survive if you’re wearing gas masks- for which you will have to scavenge and craft filters. Meanwhile, players can also look for Strategic Homeland Division (SHD) Beacons all over the map, which will allow you to call in supply drops, purchase upgrades, clear contaminated areas, and more.

The central loop in the game, it seems, will be built around going out into Silver Creek, scavenging resources, finding loot, and then coming back to your Base of Operations (or BOO), a central hub that’s been set up in an abandoned items. Here, players can customize their loadouts, mod their weapons, buy upgrades and gear, sell items, matchmake for lobbies, and more.

The BOO will also be the place where players pick up “projects”, which, according to Henderson’s report, are the game’s take on daily and weekly missions, which will provide additional XP and resources. Meanwhile, at the base, players will also be able to equip Prep Items, which will provide various boosts during matches, such as being able to use a specific insertion point. Interestingly, it seems the base will also have an arcade featuring several Ubisoft games like Driver and For Honor, though it’s unknown whether they’re going to be playable within Heartland.

Speaking of matches, The Division Heartland is seemingly going to be built around two modes, with the flagship mode being Storm, a PvPvE mode that apparently takes cue from Escape from Tarkov, tasking players with gathering loot and resources while exploring the map and fighting against both player- and AI-controlled enemies before safely extracting back to the base.

The second mode is Excursion, which is being billed as a PvE tutorial-esque mode that will allow players to explore the map and gather loot at their own pace while taking on enemy AI soldiers. These enemies are apparently called “Vultures” in the game, and come in six different varieties- Flanker, Grunt, Heavy, Sharps, Hooter, and Technician.

Additionally, Henderson also mentions that The Division Heartland currently has six playable characters (three male and three female characters) to choose between, and though the differences between them are purely cosmetic, players will also one of three different classics, each with unique perks and expertise. There’s the combat-focused Weapon Expert, the health-focused Medic, and the looting and scavenging-focused Survivalist.

As for when The Division Heartland will launch, that remains to be seen. Ubisoft has said that it’ll be out before April 2023, though a specific release date remains unannounced. Henderson states in his report that “extensive” QA tests are being held for the game, leading to the speculation that “a release could be imminent”. Meanwhile, he also mentions that unlike the widely lambasted Ghost Recon Frontline, The Division Heartland is in a solid state, with its development “progressing well.”

It seems like there might be official word from Ubisoft on this front soon, so stay tuned for more updates.

Ubisoft Massive is "still hard at work" on upcoming content for The Division 2. The Division Heartland will also have additional tests later.

The upcoming Ubisoft Forward presentation is starting to come together with the announcement of Rainbow Six Extraction. However, along with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, Ubisoft Massive’s The Division 2 also won’t be at E3 2021. In an official tweet, the developer said that it’s “still hard at work” and that new content is “on track for the end of the year.”

As for The Division Heartland, which saw its gameplay and details leak from a recent closed test, it will more tests available for those interested. More details on the same will be provided when the developer is ready. It’s worth noting that the recently leaked BattleCat – a PvP shooter with characters from Ghost Recon Breakpoint, The Division and Splinter Cell – could still be announced at Ubisoft Forward.

Of course, it remains to be seen which development team is working on it so don’t get your hopes up. Ubisoft has confirmed that along with Rainbow Six Extraction, Riders Republic and Far Cry 6 will be Ubisoft Forward along with additional content for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Though it already confirmed new content on the way for The Division 2, Ubisoft has provided more details on the universe. Along with announcing over 40 million players for the franchise, it revealed Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland. Developed by Red Storm, it’s a free-to-play title set to release in 2021 to 2022 for PC, cloud and consoles.

As a standalone title, Heartland offers an “all new perspective on the universe in a new setting.” Sign-ups are currently available for its early test phases but that’s not all. The Division will also be coming to mobiles with more details to be revealed “at a later date.” The Division 2’s new content, which includes a brand new game mode, also received slight new details like new methods for leveling one’s characters.

These will apparently help to increase build variety and viability though we’ll learn more later. The new content is currently slated for a late 2021 release. A novel on The Division along with the official film developed with Netflix are still coming as well. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

As part of Ubisoft's "ongoing commitment to keep our dedicated community energized and playing."

Ubisoft have been making a point of assuring players that The Division 2 will aim to have a steady stream of endgame content that will keep players glued to it, while their promise to make sure that it’s all free has also made a lot of fans quite excited about it. Recently, in a reveal of the game’s Dark Zone and PvP elements, it was revealed that it’d be launching with two modes for the latter, but speaking with The Koalition, Senior Producer Tony Sturtzel at Red Storm, who are assisting Ubisoft Massive with the game’s development, promised that there will be more content to come following the game’s launch.

Sturtzel said that though the game will only be launching with two PvP modes and “a few maps”, more maps, PvP modes, as well as story-focused missions will be added on to the game following its launch, and all of it will be released for free, as Ubisoft have said earlier.

“There definitely will be more modes added as free post-launch content,” said Sturtzel. “Our current goal is to ship this game with a few maps uniquely built for the best PvP experiences. Our decision to create from an endgame-first mentality means that fans can expect more content drops in the future after completing the campaign. Additional story-driven missions and map expansions will also be free as our ongoing commitment to keep our dedicated community energized and playing.”

If you’re curious about the game’s content by way of the main campaign, there’s going to be plenty of that too- apparently, the main story’s going to be roughly 40 hours long. We recently got a story-focused trailer for the game as well. Take a look through here.

The Division 2 launches on March 15 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
