The Division 2 Dark Zone

The Public Test Server for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is now live, allowing PC players the chance to test Title Update 4. This provides access to the new Gunner Specialization which uses a minigun to shred enemies at the expense of not taking cover or dodge-rolling. Ubisoft Massive talked about other changes that would be coming in its latest State of the Game and had good news regarding Signature Ammo.

Currently, Signature Ammo drops like normal but it’s not exactly plentiful nor are the drops reliable. So one change that’s in development is a meter on the left of the player’s HUD. This will fill as your or your team performs actions that provide ammo. Once it’s full, Signature Ammo will drop.

The developer is still working on improving Skill Builds and will be adding Rogues to the Occupied Dark Zone on the PTS. However, perhaps the best change is to Specializations. Along with increased Specialization Points cap from 160 to 165, all Specializations can now spec into any weapon. If you spec into a weapon that’s associated with the Specialization in question, then you’ll receive Specialization weapon mods.

Other changes include the Tach-50 and Crossbow being buffed, especially with regards to the latter’s ability to break armour. They’re not on the PTS yet but maintenance might be happening tomorrow. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
