A recent hotfix for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has removed some graphical options for PC players, at least through the Microsoft Store (and Game Pass, by extension). Players reported being unable to select an upscaling method, resulting in various issues (including poor performance).

Bethesda Support clarified the matter, confirming that a hotfix went live on April 25th. “However, this was meant for a few backend tweaks and nothing directly impacting gameplay.” It noted that only Microsoft Store players were affected, but any graphics settings adjusted before the hotfix went live remain “enabled and function normally.”

The downside is that players are “temporarily” unable to adjust these due to a settings UI issue. The developer is investigating and “working out a resolution,” though there’s no ETA for the same.

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is also available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam (which isn’t facing the same issue). It crossed four million players within three days of shadow-dropping. Check out our review to learn more about the game’s improvements and how enjoyable Oblivion remains after all these years.
