It looks like the rumours surrounding a physical release for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered on PS5 are heating up. As caught by GamesRadar, an email gotten by a Reddit user that had pre-ordered a copy of the game indicates that it will simply be a code for a downloadable version of the game. The email is reportedly from online retailer PlayAsia, and was joined by a screenshot of the listing for Oblivion Remastered, which mentions that it will be a “Code in a Box” release.

While this might be some cause for concern, a report by Billbil-kun of Dealabs indicates that a disc will be present in the Deluxe Edition of the physical release. The disc is expected to include the game itself, and is expected to be packaged with an extra code that includes all the in-game Deluxe Edition goodies.

Along with this, the report also indicates that this Deluxe Edition physical release—priced at $39.99—is scheduled to come out on October 13 in North America and Europe. It is worth noting that the pricing is substantially lower than the Digital Deluxe Edition, which costs $59.99.

Interestingly, the listing on PlayAsia does include the Asia version of the title—available in Asian and English language covers—which will be a “Code in a Box” release. However, the European version seemingly features the actual game disc rather than a download code, since no mention is made of a “Code in a Box”. The PlayAsia listing also notes an official release date of October 17.

The report also noted that the state of the Xbox Series X/S version of the physical release is currently unknown, including whether or not it will include the disc, or if it will simply be a “Code in a Box” release. However, pre-orders for both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S physical releases are slated to start on September 29.

The Deluxe Edition of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered will include the base game, new quests for Akatosh and Mehrunes Dragon Armours, weapons and Horse Armour sets, the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions, the digital artbook and soundtrack, and a host of extra downloadable content: Fighter’s Stronghold, Spell Tomes, Vile Lair, Mehrune’s Razor, The Thieves Den, Wizard’s Tower, The Orrery, and Horse Armor Pack.

A previous report noted that retailers have been ready to start accepting pre-orders for Oblivion Remastered for some time now. Microsoft, however, has decided to delay it. Interestingly, the report noted that retailers have already gotten their stocks of Oblivion Remastered, ready to be sold.

Along with this, the report also indicated that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be coming over to PS5 in November. The title is also expected to get a physical release on Sony’s console, and will include all of the content that has been released for it so far across Xbox and PC. Reports of it coming to PS5 first started popping up all the way back in in January, when it was expected to be coming to the PS5, as well as the Nintendo Switch 2, alongside Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
