Following rumors, Bethesda Game Studios has revealed the official title of The Elder Scrolls 6 – Sentinel. It released a new teaser, showcasing one of the titular Scrolls as sand slowly sifts away. Check it out below and rejoice that we can now use a different title card for the game more than eight years after its announcement.
Of course, there’s also a quote from Yazar to Hammerfell’s High Queen Iradne. “The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate.” So while Bethesda didn’t outright scream that Hammerfell is the new location, the copious amounts of sand and these words provide more than enough evidence.
However, one thing is pretty much confirmed – Sentinel takes place in 4E 206, five years after The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. If reports about the story delving into the Elder Scrolls themselves are true, it may set the stage for an adventure of cataclysmic proportions.
In the meantime, it’s back to the waiting game, whether it’s for a release date, platforms or gameplay (perhaps at the next Xbox Games Showcase in 2027). For what it’s worth, it seems Xbox is still mulling over whether to make Sentinel an exclusive, and you’d think that the alleged performance of Gears of War: E-Day is weighing heavily. Either way, stay tuned for updates.
