The excitement surrounding The Last of Us’ HBO adaptation is continuing to build by the day, especially with the series having impressed with its recent debut trailer, and now, we know exactly when to expect it.
The Last of Us’ official HBO page recently spilled the beans on a January release date, and that’s now been officially confirmed. The show will premier on January 15. The first season is going to consist of ten episodes, as has been previously announced, so we can expect the final episode on March 19.
The premiere date’s announcement is also accompanied with new key art for the show, which showcases Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Bella Ramsey’s Ellie walking down a suitably apocalyptic and overgrown road littered with wrecked vehicles, with crumbling skyscrapers looming in the distance. Anyone who’s played the games will be more than familiar with the imagery.
Stay tuned for more coverage on The Last of Us in the lead-up to its premiere.
