The Last of Us Part 1

Ahead of its release, Naughty Dog and Sony have released a launch trailer for The Last of Us Part 1. The ground-up remake of the 2013 action-adventure, which garnered over 200 Game of the Year awards, is out on September 2nd for PS5. The PC version is currently in development and launching “very soon” after the console version.

The trailer highlights several moments from the game, but the relationship between Joel and Ellie is still at the center. In terms of improvements, the remake offers a massive increase in detail, more realistic lighting, overhauled animations, and much more. It leverages the console’s SSD for near-instant loading times.

The DualSense’s haptic feedback is also utilized, with feedback from rainfall or walking through snow faithfully recreated. The adaptive triggers also add to the combat with trigger resistance and kickback reflected when firing. If that weren’t enough, fans can expect a wealth of accessibility options, a revamped crafting bench, AI improvements and much more.
