Naughty Dog is one of those few developers in the industry that almost always guarantees top notch quality with each of its games. And more than anything else, the studio’s new games have always pushed the envelope with production values, with their technical achievement, with how they push the medium forward.
The Last of Us Part 2 looks set to become their biggest game to date, and so, the expectations of quality from the title – for so many reasons – are sky high everywhere. And Naughty Dog certainly aren’t backing down from the challenge of living up to those enormous expectations. Recently, Anthony Newman, co-game director on The Last of Us Part 2, dropped a very short and simple tweet, but one that will excite anyone who’s looking forward to the game, saying that the Naughty Dog are going to “redefine AAA” with their upcoming release.
The Last of Us Part 2 has entered the final stretch of development, according to Naughty Dog, and is due out exclusively for the PS4 on May 29. The game will have an hour-long playable demo at PAX East later this month. Recently, a clip of the game emerged, showing off some neat-looking weapons customization. Take a look through here.
