Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 has received a wealth of new details recently thanks to previews from various publications.  The development team revealed the number of accessibility options present and how it’s catering to all kinds of players. Thanks to another preview by Game Informer, we’ve learned that the difficulty is “highly customizable”.

Essentially, you won’t have to stick to predefined difficulties like Easy, Normal or Hard. Like Eidos Montreal’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider, it’s possible to fine-tune certain elements of the experience to your liking. Some examples include tweaking the damage taken, how common resources are and the perceptiveness of enemies.

According to the preview, the gulf between the various settings is “noticeable” so you can make the game as challenging or as easy as you’d like. Of course, it’s worth noting that there is a Survivor difficulty and it’s unlocked from the very start though. Be careful though – it can be fairly brutal.

The Last of Us Part 2 is out on June 19th for PS4. Reviews will be going live on June 12th, so stay tuned.
