IMPROVED COMPANION AI
Any sequel should ideally look to address its predecessor’s biggest issues, and as great as The Last of Us was, it did have issues. The one that’s brought up most consistently is the frustrating companion AI, which did not obey the rules of stealth. That’s something that the sequel is looking address. According to Naughty Dog, AI has received an overhaul across the board, whether that’s for enemies or for companions, but companion characters specifically have also seen vast improvements. Not only will they be much more effective during combat, they will now also properly obey the rules of stealth rather than running about haphazardly in front of oblivious enemies while players hide behind cover and wonder what the hell is going on.
