Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection
Ryu Hayabusa’s return, even if it’s in a trio of remasters, was initially celebrated. Then more details got out about Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection and it was one sobering reality after another. A remaster of the definitive games in the Team Ninja’s classic hack and slash series? Actually, it includes Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 and 2 – both inferior to their base versions – along with Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge. 4K/60 FPS support on PC? Well yes, but there are no options for higher frame rates and changing the resolution involves opening the game’s Properties in your Steam Library to manually enter it (and there are only three options – 720p, 1080p and 4K). If you’re on console and don’t mind experiencing a version of the series with a higher resolution, then this might be worth checking out but it should have been so much more.
