The Rogue Prince of Persia_04

Evil Empire has pushed its first patch out for The Rogue Prince of Persia, which launched into Steam Early Access earlier this week. It offers various performance improvements, including a “big round of optimization” and additional fail safes for saves, thus preventing “weird behavior when resuming runs.”

An issue causing Medallion effects to remain when restarting a run has also been fixed, alongside crashes occurring in the Garden and during the second boss fight. Font issues with the Chinese localization have also been corrected. Evil Empire promises “more fixes” as it’s still working to improve performance.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is currently available on PC and will remain in early access for at least a year (though it could be longer). Though it includes the first six biomes and two bosses, different weapons and Medallions, and the first story Act, weekly updates will add more content.

Said content could include upgrades, animations, new enemies and more, though an entire Act and biome won’t drop out of the blue. The weekly cadence could change if it affects the development team, but for now, stay tuned for more details and check out our review here.
