Deck13’s The Surge 2 is one of the major releases of next month, following up on the underrated original in numerous ways. To help bring everyone up to speed with the gameplay and setting, a new overview trailer has been released. Check it out below.

Much like the original, The Surge 2 employs Souls-like combat in a sci-fi setting with fancy limb-based targeting and executions. This time around, you’re in Jericho City which is under siege from rogue machines (and security doesn’t exactly appreciate your presence either). Create a custom character, and go on to explore the nooks, crannies and alternate pathways of the city. Fight massive bosses. You’ll likely die – a lot – but that’s expected.

The Surge 2 further changes things up by allowing players to leave messages for each other, employ a drone to fight with them and much more. It’s out on September 24th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Check out the previous trailer which highlights the accolades from recent previews.
