The Surge 2’s Newest Trailer Shows Off Brutal Combat, Dismemberments, Upgrades, and More

Overcome. Upgrade. Survive.

Developers Deck13 have been promising a much more visceral and brutal experience with their upcoming sci-fi Soulslike The Surge 2 as compared to its predecessor, and if this new trailer is anything to go by, the game is definitely going to make good on those promises.

The trailer focuses, first and foremost, on the action RPG’s combat, showing its brutal melee fights in a lot of varied environments, showing off dismemberments (and some glorious fountains of blood), while also spending some time to focus on the upgrade and progression aspects of the game. Take a look below.

We recently went hands on with The Surge 2’s beta on PC, and our impressions overall were positive. In our preview, which you can read through here, we noted that though the game is lacking in polish in its current state, it is “shaping up to be a solid take on the genre”, while praising the setting, the environments, and the fun yet derivative combat.

The Surge 2 is out on September 24 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’re craving more footage from the game before it launches, you can check out its recent cinematic trailer, or even the entire first 16 minutes of the game.
