CD Projekt RED is celebrating 10 years of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with the release of a new video, which you can check out below. For context, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was first released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on May 19, 2015, which would make the day of this article’s publication ten years since the critically-acclaimed RPG came out.

The video, coming in at under 3 minutes, takes us a trip through some of the key moments of the story from The Witcher 3, from epic boss fights, confrontations against the Wild Hunt, and even some of the most beloved quests like the one involving the Bloody Baron. The video caps things off with developer CD Projekt RED thanking players for “10 years of killing monsters.”

“Celebrate 10 years of killing monsters and forging unforgettable memories,” posted the studio in the description of the video. “It’s been a decade since players first stepped into Geralt’s boots and began their search for Ciri — discovering all the choices, adventures, and stories that followed. Thank you for walking this Path with us. You made The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt the legendary journey it is today.”

With The Witcher 3 being a decade behind in terms of CD Projekt’s history at this point, the company is now working on its follow-up, aptly titled The Witcher 4, which was officially unveiled with a trailer back in December 2024 during The Game Awards. The trailer, while lacking any gameplay footage, did reveal that Ciri would be taking over the reins as the protagonist from her adopted father Geralt.

Recently, CD Projekt CFO Piotr Nielubowicz spoke about how Ciri was a great choice for The Witcher 4 as well as future games in the franchise. “At the [The Game Awards 2024] in December, we presented the first trailer, which was created using our own version of the Unreal Engine 5 engine,” said Nielubowicz. “Although it did not show the gameplay itself, it gave players an idea of what they could expect from ‘The Witcher 4’. Above all, we wanted to introduce the world to the main character of the game. We believe that Ciri is a great choice for the new saga because she gives us many possibilities – both narrative and artistic.”

“It also gives us the opportunity to tell the story from a new perspective. Apart from that, unfortunately, I cannot reveal anything more. We have the ambition to reach higher and higher with each new game, and this also applies to the fourth part of ‘The Witcher’.”

CD Projekt co-CEO Michał Nowakowski has also mentioned how he believes that single-player games will continue to be popular even in the future. In a financial report from back in March, Nowakowski mentioned that the company plans on staying on the cutting edge of technology and storytelling for its future single-player titles like The Witcher 4 and a future sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.

If you want to revisit The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. While you’re at it, also check out our thoughts on how playing The Witcher 3 feels ten years after its original release.
