The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered has signalled a resurgence for the critically acclaimed classic, leading to its highest concurrent player count on Steam since launch. That doesn’t mean it’s free of issues, but CD Projekt RED has been addressing them rapidly.
After its latest hotfix fixed Xbox Play Anywhere performance issues and improved the lighting for some interiors that seemed too dark, the developer confirmed more fixes are on the way. That includes improvements to the PS5 version’s performance, more visual “adjustments”, and voiceover audio fixes on consoles. You can also expect Ukrainian localization on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in other regions.
While much of this is planned for the next update, the developer is looking into other issues. If the mod selection felt a bit sparse, it’s currently working on “bringing more mods across all platforms” with Mod.io’s help.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered is a free upgrade for current-gen versions of the game, bringing several changes to lighting, shadows, foliage and more, while adding GTAO, ray-traced local shadows, and more. It also revamped skill progression, added transmog, improved animations for Geralt and Roach, introduced new finishers, and even implemented a timelapse when meditating.
