10. Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver

Improving on the first second-gen games in the Pokemon franchise is a challenge, one that Game Freak more than met with HeartGold and SoulSilver. While it maintained everything that made the original so great, it added some great new features, like Pokemon following the player in the overworld and new events courtesy of the Pokeathlon. Not the most mind-blowing remakes but they remain the best ways to play Gold and Silver.
