7. Super Mario Odyssey
At its core, Super Mario Odyssey is a 3D platformer that evolves on the formula from Super Mario 64 while introducing its own unique elements like Cappy and unique worlds. Mario has never felt better to control, and though the story can feel easy, Odyssey is more of a celebration of the series, as seen with its 2D side-scrolling segments and cameos. It’s a tight-knit platformer with gorgeous visuals and memorable music, and if you stick around post-credits, there’s plenty of challenge for the completionist at heart.
