Shadow of the Colossus

Shadow of the Colossus PS4 (1)

Some aesthetics are never lost to time even if their graphics improve. Shadow of the Colossus, remade by Bluepoint Games for the PS4, is one such example. Characters actually feel alive and fleshed out, the environments breath with a new sense of wonder thanks to lighting improvements, and the Colossi are even more imposing. The remake is such an upheaval that it might as well be a new game despite the lack of any gameplay changes. It releases on February 6th 2018 for PS4.
