12. The Last of Us
From the very beginning when you control Sarah, Joel’s 12-year old daughter, it’s clear The Last of Us isn’t going to be an easy journey. When you’re in the heat of combat, brutally bashing a raider, or sneaking past a Clicker to avoid certain death, there’s an ever-increasing level of stress. But it’s also an incredibly beautiful story, one that presents hope in the midst of despair and love in the face of carnage. Even with everything you may have heard, it’s still worth experiencing the journey for yourself.
