Trek to Yomi

Sega finally provided a release date for Sonic Origins, confirming that the compilation would launch on June 23rd. However, the announcement was quickly met with backlash when the publisher unveiled the various pre-order bonuses and DLC that it would have.

Basic features like “Character Animation in the Main Menu” and “Hard Missions” are locked behind the Premium Fun Pack, which is currently available only with the Digital Deluxe Edition. But if you don’t pre-order the latter, then you won’t get “Mirror Mode” or, of all things, a “Letterbox Background” included with the Start Dash Pack. Devolver Digital has responded to this, providing a handy pre-order “guide” for the upcoming Trek to Yomi on Twitter.

It notes that regardless of which version is pre-ordered, you’ll receive the base game, a 10 percent discount, an “Epic Journey Through the Underworld” (“And Back”, of course), “Stunning Visuals”, a “Remarkable Soundtrack”, and “Progressively Complex Combat.” You can even view the “Full Credits at the End”. Other features include four different endings and a One-Hit Kill Mode that unlocks when finishing the game, but these are omitted.

Sega hasn’t responded to the backlash against Sonic Origins so we’ll need to stay tuned for more details on that front. In the meantime, Trek to Yomi launches on May 5th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. It will also be available on PC Game Pass at launch.
