Microsoft has revealed its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2024, ending on September 30th. It announced that Xbox content and services revenue was up by 13 percent, with gaming revenue as a whole up by nine percent. However, Xbox hardware revenue is down by seven percent.
Bethesda’s Starfield resulted in the most Game Pass subscriptions in a single day when it launched, per Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. However, there’s no new update on Game Pass subscriber numbers. The last major milestone was in January 2022, when the company announced over 25 million subscribers.
Regardless, Game Pass continues to form a major part of the publisher’s gaming strategy for the future. Its Xbox Partner Preview showcase is today at 10 AM PT, with more details on releases from third-party developers like Alan Wake 2, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Ark: Survival Ascended. Game Pass announcements have also been promised, so stay tuned for more details.
