It’s been a while since Microsoft July as the month when they would do a big blowout event on what their expanded first party portfolio has been working on in preparation of the Xbox Series X’s arrival, and though they’ve regularly talked about it, an exact date for when the event is scheduled hasn’t yet been announced.
According to Jez Corden of Windows Central, however, you shouldn’t expect it to come in the next couple of weeks. Taking to Twitter, he said simply that the event won’t be in early July, which means we’re looking at a date later on in the month. What the event will feature remains to be seen, but reports have indicated that major AAA first party titles – as well as some third party reveals – are on the docket.
Halo Infinite has been confirmed to be at the event with (hopefully) gameplay footage. Reports and speculation have also talked about Playground Games’ long-rumoured Fable 4, as well as a Perfect Dark game developed by The Initiative.
Xbox Lockhart – the long-rumoured cheaper and less powerful next-gen Xbox variant – has been in the rumour mill once again, though earlier reports suggested that that would be revealed in August.
Don't expect the Xbox event in early July btw.
