Xbox Series X

Microsoft’s next-gen console recently made an appearance at CES 2020 during AMD’s briefing. Interestingly, it offered a look at the console’s back and various ports for seemingly the first time. If it seemed too good to be true, it’s because it was.

AMD recently confirmed to The Verge that the images from the presser (which you can view below) didn’t represent the actual Xbox Series X. Instead of being from Microsoft, these assets came from TurboSquid (which sells stock 3D models for graphical design use). A spokesperson stated, “The Xbox Series X imagery used during the AMD CES press conference was not sourced from Microsoft and does not accurately represent the design or features of the upcoming console. They were taken from TurboSquid.”

So essentially, we’re still in the dark as to what’s going on in the back of the Xbox Series X. It probably won’t be long before we find out though. Microsoft will likely roll out more information on the console at E3 2020, if not in the lead-up to the same. You can likely expect to hear more about its features and launch titles soon as well.

The Xbox Series X launches this Holiday. Sony’s PlayStation 5, which is out in the same window, also had some presence at CES 2020, as the console’s official logo was revealed for the first time.
