Due to the massive success of Shovel Knight, Yacht Club Games is one of the premier independent developers out there. They’ve managed to carve such a name for themselves they’re getting into publishing other titles from other developers. But they’re still creators, first and foremost, and they announced today that they have multiple more of their own projects in the works as well.

During their Nintendo Direct-inspired Yacht Club Games Presents video, which you can see below, the company confirmed that they are working on not one, but two new projects. At least one of them they tease to be a new IP, and promise that those who loved Shovel Knight and its various spinoffs will find plenty to like about.

“We can finally confirm that we’ve begun internal development on new projects,” said Yacht Club Games’ Sean Velasco. “That’s right, projects, as in more than one. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see a brand new IP from Yacht Club Games? If you love Shovel Knight, you’ll surely be interested in these games as well. Rest assured that our signature approach to game design, characters, and story will be front and center.”

The developer has said that Shovel Knight isn’t done quite yet, so it could be possible that at least one of those projects will be another spinoff, if not an outright sequel. It seems whatever they are, they’re a good ways off, so it might be a while before we hear anything about them. But it’s sure to be something to keep our eyes on.
