The Last of Us: Part 2 Director Teases Horseback Combat

Ellie could engage in mobile combat in the sequel.

Not much is known about The Last of Us: Part 2 outside of the reveal trailer at last year’s PlayStation Experience. However, director Neil Druckmann has been sharing some snippets via Twitter, which is where we discovered that Shannon Woodward from Westworld would have a role in the game.

However, in joking about co-writer Halley Gross (who also co-wrote Westworld), Druckmann might have revealed an interesting new detail about the sequel. In the tweet, Gross can be seen on top of a horse prop with a prop shotgun in one hand. Since these props are used for mocap sessions, it’s likely that these are for a horseback fighting sequence in-game.

Again, nothing is confirmed outside of speculation but horseback riding isn’t exactly a new concept for The Last of Us.

What are thoughts on the sequel thus far? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
