Subject Zero’s Ordeal – Mass Effect 2
Abducted from Eden Prime before the game’s events, Jack or Subject Zero was the focus of a Cerberus experiment for enhancing biotic power. She would be experimented on continuously throughout her childhood, facing all kinds of torture to see how it would impact her power. Other children were kept at the same facility and subsequently disposed of in bouts against Jack, while she was injected with substances to make her enjoy the killing. Eventually, a riot broke out and Jack would end up killing the guards and the other subjects before escaping. This freedom didn’t last for long though – she would become enslaved, join several gangs, and eventually travel to the prison ship Purgatory where she faced further abuse before Shepard’s arrival.
