DriveClub – Look At That Rain

Although DriveClub hasn’t been released yet- it was supposed to be a PlayStation 4 launch title, and then it got delayed and will finally be releasing in October this year- it seems like developers Evolution Studios have been making use of all that extra development time effectively. And nowhere is this more apparent than in the game’s incredible graphics.

DriveClub is an ambitious racing game- it’s going to feature dynamic weather and day and night cycles, for example, and if it can’t pull all of that off effectively visually, then the realism it so strives to create will be shattered. Happily enough, Evolution Studios appear to be incredibly accomplished developers, as from everything we’ve seen so far, they seem to have pulled that off. If you don’t believe me, just look at the video above. just look at that rain, and how well the behavior of individual droplets, the clouds in the sky, the water on the road and on your hood and your windshield, how well and realistically modeled all of that seems to be. All indications point that DriveClub will well and truly have been worth the wait when it finally ships later this year.
