11. Grand Theft Auto 5 (2011)

Though it pales in comparison to Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 is still very impressive. Los Santos captured its LA inspiration incredibly well with some locations being 1:1 recreations. There was also the incredible draw distance, texture streaming, animation and lighting – all this running on previous gen platforms. The fact that Rockstar did all this and offered a separate online mode as its own complete experience is noteworthy.
