9. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015)
It’s amazing how The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ended up looking at launch since it had been downgraded from earlier showings. REDengine 3’s capabilities ranged from tesselation in the environments and volumetrics to HDR rendering and improved animations. Even cooler is how certain effects like light shafts with bloom and chromatic aberration were included in the Xbox One and PS4 versions (despite those running at 30 frames per second). It also didn’t hurt that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt possessed such incredible production values in its story-telling and quest design.
