Aerith’s Death – Final Fantasy 7

There have been a lot of sad moments in the Final Fantasy franchise but for many, Aerith’s death is the most impactful. It starts with the party chasing after Aerith who pursues Sephiroth to retrieve the Black Meteor that Cloud surrendered against his will. When reaching the abandoned Cetra city, Sephiroth tries to control Cloud once again and have him kill Aerith. Of course, our hero fights back and you begin to think the worst is over…until Sephiroth appears behind Aerith and stabs her. It’s sudden and shocking, but the grief only really sets in when Cloud explodes with anger, fighting off “Sephiroth” who turns out to be a Jenova-LIFE, and subsequently laying Aerith to rest.
