Everyone refers to Dark Souls when talking about FromSoftware’s incredibly environmental story-telling and lore but Bloodborne is arguably more intriguing as a standalone story. Beneath the tenuous hold on what’s real and what’s not, there is an excellent storyline about Yharnam’s encounter with the Great Ones, the town’s obsession with blood infusion, the rise of the beasts and Hunters, and how everything unravels. It’s macabre, chaotic and yet beautiful at the same time.
