There’s a lot to unravel in Horizon Zero Dawn because of how many different levels the story works on. It’s a throwback to the prehistoric ages, a mystery thriller, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi title, a war story, etc. While it could work as a live-action film if the main plot is adapted straight-up, the richness of the world and lore also helps it work as an extended series (even if some questions have gone unanswered).
