Massive Nerfs Instead of Slight Adjustments
However, the opposite trend of nerfing a strong weapon or hero into the ground is probably worse. The G36C in The Division only needed its damage toned down in 2016 but Ubisoft Massive messed with its accuracy, range, recoil, per bullet recoil and so on as well. Titans in Destiny 2 had to work with Shoulder Charge being effectively pointless in the initial team shot meta and Bungie further messed up by nerfing the ability’s mobility (which it reverted later). Balance is a difficult thing to achieve but it’s hard not to feel bad when certain weapons and heroes are made effectively pointless instead of tweaked to be less oppressive but still fun.
