SQUALL IS DEAD- FINAL FANTASY 8
The “Squall is dead” theory grabbed the attention of the collective Final Fantasy 8 fanbase like few other game-related theories ever have. To this day, there are countless people who still believe this theory is absolutely true. At the end of the first disc of Final Fantasy 8, the protagonist Squall takes a shard of ice through his chest, stumbles off a platform, closes his eyes, and loses consciousness. According to the theory, though, Squall takes an ice shard through his chest, stumbles off a platform, closes his eyes, and dies.
What about the entirety of the rest of the game? Well, apparently, that’s supposed to be an extended vision flashing before Squall’s eyes as he dies- none of it ever really happened. The thing is, those who abide by this theory have actually gone to great lengths to provide supporting arguments and evidence to back their claims. Of course, none of this has ever been confirmed by Square Enix. You know why? Because it’s not true, stop being crazy.
