Contra

If there was ever a classic series to have its ups and downs through the years, Contra would be it. After its debut with the classic Contra in 1987, it saw numerous successes from Super Contra and Operation C to Contra: Hard Corps. Following the abysmal C The Contra Adventure in 1998, the series truly began to slow down with only Shattered Soldier providing any entertainment in 2002. It wasn’t until Contra 4 in 2007 that the series got rolling again but the last decent game would be Hard Corps: Uprising (from none other than Dragon Ball FighterZ developer Arc System Works). Much like Metal Slug, it feels like the concept would have a hard time standing out, especially for Konami given its current approach. Regardless, bring it back already.
