We’ve spoken of Xbox One’s botched reveal at E3 2013 quite a bit (in this feature and in many, many others), but Microsoft deserves a lot of credit for how it turned things around following the backlash. Sure, a lot of it was because of necessity, but not only did they completely walk back on the things that drew so much controversy during Xbox One’s reveal, they also went a step further still in that direction. At E3 2015, their announcement that the Xbox One would support full backward compatibility with the entire Xbox catalog, even when the PS4 was stubbornly refusing to do the same with its own back catalog, was something that proved to be an extremely popular one with millions.
