EA have, over the years, made an art form out of how to do terrible E3 press conferences (which is why the announcement that they wouldn’t be holding one this year came as such a relief). In 2018, that terribleness crescendoed. From their frustrating reveal of the “revival” of Command and Conquer as a mobile-only game, to their weird Anthem presentation that had next to no gameplay, to the expected but still annoying emphasis they put on their sports title, to even the weird reveal of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, EA Play 2018 felt like a string of embarrassing moments.
