As players traveled through the RPD in the original Resident Evil 2, they discovered a corpse with its head missing. Ahead of it was a pool of blood with drops falling from the ceiling. Of course, this led to the first encounter with the Licker as it slowly crawled across, its hideous features fully revealed. Compared to the remake, where it simply rushed the player, the Licker’s introduction here was more methodical, creating a feeling of slow dread.
