While maintaining its predecessor’s fundamental combat and gameplay, Nioh 2 adds on to it in numerous ways. New weapon types, revamped skill trees, Yokai abilities, new Burst Counters that reward aggression, improved environments and new types of loot to strive for, and of course, tons of tough new bosses can be expected. There’s even more challenge to be had but Nioh 2’s combat is immensely rewarding while presenting tons of new content (and that’s before the end-game).
