8. Mass Effect 2
BioWare went full third-person, cover-based shooter with its highly-anticipated sequel, and to no one’s surprise, it was amazing. It wasn’t just the immaculate mission design and overall story-telling with one of the best RPG casts in gaming that cemented its greatness. Playing as a Vanguard and Biotic Charging fools into next week or activating Time Dilation and wrecking shop as a Soldier, among other things, felt great.
