If Breath of the Wild is one of the most influential open world titles in years, then Red Dead Redemption 2 arguably represents its peak. As a prequel to the original, it explores the fall of the Van der Linde gang and the outlaws of the Wild West in general, serving as a pitch perfect tragedy. Gameplay-wise, its enormous world is presented in intricate fashion with each activity, be it fishing, hunting or horse-riding, being extremely realistic. And even with such a great main story, there are plenty of memorable side stories and secrets to explore as well.
