Horizon Zero Dawn
For Guerrilla Games, a developer that’s well-versed in first person shooters, Horizon Zero Dawn was a huge departure. An action RPG with a vast open world, full of platforming and Monster Hunter-style battles against robotic dinosaurs, and a strong narrative appeared to be a massive undertaking. However, Aloy’s tale of heroism and self-discovery seamlessly combined all of this while presenting a unique setting, excellent production values and tons of interesting content to play through (including a welcome spin on the towers formula).
