Skull & Bones
Even if it is just an off-shoot of the naval combat in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones stands on its own pretty well. The lavish detail of the pirate ships and the realistically rendered water immediately catch your attention. The smoke and fire effects, especially as dozens of cannons are going off at once, look mesmerizing. Whether Ubisoft can maintain this level of fidelity during multiplayer matches remains to be seen but we’re intrigued all the same.
