To say that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 had a hellacious development cycle would be an understatement (especially since it was first planned to release in 2012). However, it’s now set to release on April 28^th 2022 for PC and Xbox Series X/S while looking absolutely gorgeous. Developed on Unreal Engine 5, it sees players venturing to the Zone once again with familiar threats like Controllers and mutant dogs returning. In terms of content, the developer notes that “hundreds of hours” can be spent on exploration and side quests but multiple playthroughs will be needed to see everything.
