Multiplayer in The Witcher 3: “We’re thinking about something” says CD Projekt

"You can expect some information later on."

The Witcher series is renowned for its compelling single player character driven narrative. However, it looks like the next installment in the franchise might incorporate some small doses of multiplayer as well.

Eurogamer recently conducted a comprehensive interview with  Adam Badowski, managing director of CD Projekt RED. And when asked about the possibility of multiplayer in The Witcher 3, Adam did not completely dismiss the notion, hinting that the developer might be experimenting on ways to implement it without sullying the core experience.

“We’re thinking about something,” he said, “but I cannot explain it now. You can expect some information later on. Sorry for that!”

The Witcher 3 has taken some queues from Skyrim, and will take place in a massive open world, even bigger than that of Skyrim. The main quest alone should take around 50 hours, with side-quests extending that number to over 100. The Witcher 3 is currently in development for the PC and next generation consoles, and is scheduled to arrive sometime in 2014. Be sure to head over to Eurogamer for the full interview which sheds a lot of intel on the game.
